I should hate to think that anyone missed the Resistance Radio broadcast on Monday, as Miss MacDonald has already said, there was much good to be said.
I was Imperiused at the end of last week. Imperiused by a Death Eater by the name of Igor Karkaroff after refusing what was given as merely an offer of interest from Mrs Anastasia Mulciber, wife of death eater Iago Mulciber.
My "no" was not good enough for them. My decision to be uninvolved in what is clearly a puppet organization, the Concerned Citizens for Truth, was not respected. I am a fullblood witch. My children would be pureblooded. These people are no respecter of blood - not even those of higher blood if you do not do as they say and agree with their thoughts.
The Wizarding World is fractured right now. It is fractured between those who would enforce their will upon everyone who does not agree with them and those that fight for the world we had before: A world where it was safe to walk down a street, where homes and buildings were not burned down, where people were not imprisoned or rehabilitated for wishing to leave the country.
It is easy for any of us to care deeply about what happens to the people that matter most to us. Those who are in our family, our close friends, those people we agree with, and whose ideology we support. What is difficult is to look across a gap and see someone who differs radically from us, whether in blood, or history, social status, or magical ability, and attempt to see ourselves in that person. Until every single one of us can recognise that we all of us have the same human desires and needs, similar hopes and dreams, and the right to pursue those dreams and hopes, we will be fractured.
So long as there are those who would deny fundamental human liberties to the Wizarding World, there will be those who will fight against it. A government that makes peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
I see an England where people are free to disagree with the government, free to speak against it, and free to make their own decisions without fear of being forced into action they do not wish to take. How long will we allow ourselves to live in an England ruled by fear and prejudice?
How long is too long?

I am quite pleased to see the state of Orphanages in this country being so vigorously looked into. We must be so very careful that those marginalized individuals within our society, those that differ from the norm, have the opportunities presented to each of us in better positions of one variety or another. Children in particular, have very little control over their circumstances. Anything that can be done to better their lives and their opportunities, must be applauded.

My kneazles seem to know when summer is here. It is impossible to keep them in the house during those days. Instead they wander out among the garden amongst the flowers and the grass. Myself, I cannot say that I actually blame them much. I prefer doing all of my writing out in the garden as well.

I do feel quite terrible for those women who have been caught in this hostage situation. They have been held for so terribly long, and it must be quite exhausting. And not to mention frustrating to not be able to do the normal things that one does daily.
[Warded to Agatha Chubb]
Miss Chubb, I noted that your wedding was cancelled again. I do hope that you were not involved with this situation at the foundation, and that you are all right if you were.

Dear Merlin, I do hope that none of my fellow Prophet employees were injured and that we will be able to get the News out again very soon. The Wizarding World does count on the Daily Prophet so.
[Warded Private]
I could be more worried about the fact that an entire building was destroyed. Perhaps even I should be more worried about this. And yet, to be honest, the paper has not printed truth for years, and certainly not since this new Administration has begun. The idea of Minister Nott being a Death Eater, although one I have seen passed about before, cannot truly surprise me. I certainly know his views as a young man, and do ones views truly change as an older man? Certainly mine are more similar to my youth than I let on.
This year's luncheon will be a more quiet ado than past years and I fear it will raise far less income. I wonder almost if it is wise to have it at all, and yet, Squibs are Magical of blood so if Magical blood is the most important thing to them, they cannot complain of organizations that take care of them. And thus far, despite my personal paranoia, there have been no problems.
I suppose with the Prophet down, I can either write articles for the Quibbler, or merely spend time focusing on my charities. Either, really, seems an acceptable use of a wealth of free time.

I shall ask you as I do not wish to cause undo stress, but do you believe your wife would be willing to speak to me about her recent experiences? I may have the opportunity to share the truth regarding the rehabilitation centre and would appreciate some first hand knowledge. However, if you think she is unwell, or it would cause undo stress, I will respect that. I cannot imagine it will have been an easy situation for her.
Along those same lines, if you have any information you would like to add, either as a named or an unnamed source, you may feel free to give it to me.
[Warded to Aberforth]
It appears I may have an opportunity to write some information about the rehabilitation centre and its projects including the werewolves and Miss Savage's recent internment there. I suspect you are already aware of this opportunity, but I thought I would ask if you had any information or knew of anyone who might be willing to provide me with information about this topic.
[Warded to Marlene]
Would you be willing to give me a few more details about how our friend Tabitha lost her eye? Particularly where and when?
[Added ward to Jo, Pepper may read]
Jo, I have the opportunity to tll a bit of truth, something I have never turned down at all. I realise this may be painful with it being so soon after your release from the centre at St Mungo's, but I am hoping you would be willing to share with me a bit of your experiences there for me and my readers.

The Kneazles always seem to know when it is spring. I find that I see them much less as they are so frequently found out-of-doors among the gardens. It is not a bad thing, and I find some days I am even envious of their free movement through the gardens. No deadlines, no worries, just them and the sun and the grass between their toes.

Spring. The flowers are up, the bulbs you planted before began to peek through the earth and make it a beautiful place. I've always loved bulb flowers like tulips, daffodils, crocuses, that pop up so unexpectedly in the spring. I always feel it's a promise of life renewing itself and frequently where you have forgotten it existed in the first place.
Life frequently finds a way.

My Kneazles have taken to the outdoors again without hesitation. It is very like them at this time of the year and it is a delight to watch them scamper about. I almost miss the fact that none of them will be allowed to give me kittens this year. The little ones are such a delight to watch. I suppose like children, really. They are so young and fragile and contain so much unwritten potential.

I saw Mrs Malfoy's note about the Easter Egg Hunt the Foundation is hosting and thought I would offer my services if you need any help. I did so enjoy Easter Egg hunts as a girl, & working with children is a special delight.
[Warded Private]
Friendly and to the point.
And with an Easter Egg Hunt, unless they are also discriminating based upon parental blood status, they cannot discriminate too much. Squibs will likely be involved, as there is still a chance children at that age may display magical tendencies yet, and children who are likely to know about the hunt will not be Muggleborn, but at best halfblood, as most Muggleborns do not learn of the Magical world until they are ready to attend school.
At any rate, I think it is a necessary thing regardless.

Is is always a pleasure to see two young people bring their love together and pledge their lives to each other in front of the world. Attending weddings may very well be one of my favourite past times as there is such a hope for the future that is clear to be seen.

I should truly appreciate it if you would take tea with me at your convenience. There are a number of matters I should wish to discuss with you, and although I would not normally risk the connection considering our other activities, I feel one meeting might be useful for both of us.
I do not believe I am watched, but if you feel discretion the better part of valor - a reality it took me a good portion of my life to accept - we could make it dinner after dark instead.

I wonder what of those who are not wives or mothers. The emphasis seems such that only married women and mothers of children provide strength to the country. Does a woman's usefulness to society and ability to bring strength to the nation depend upon whether or not she has found a man worthy of her affections, or alternatively, have settled enough to marry one not worthy of them? Thus, while I applaud the theme behind the Foundation's new programme - I do wonder at the message it sends to our young girls and the unmarried women in our society.
